Shelves and Cupboards

Shelves

Shallow shelves are more useful than deep shelves. Items should be stored only one deep so that they can all be seen at first glance. Only items that are the same, such as glasses or tins of food should be stacked one in front of the other. If you don't need to reach over one item to get to something behind it then you can have the next shelf just above the items on the lower shelf and increase the number of shelves.

Wall cupboards

Wall cupboards are good storage for items such as your best china, glasses and books. Make sure that they are not too deep and also that, when the doors are open, people can't hit their head.
